Hey there. It’s been a busy month so I figured I’d just copy / paste all my Yelp reviews here…
Index is the hottest new coworking space in Manhattan! Immaculate pre-demolition vibes at their open house gathering. It was fun to see the bones of their new space in Chinatown before it gets fully built out. They didn’t have a refrigerator yet, so they plopped a palette of High Life on the fire escape in true NYC form. All the designers were friendly and they had a cool selection of design books for purchase. Great spot to see internet friends IRL! 10/10
Gotta say I really enjoyed my dinner at Tanner’s place! I flew all the way from New York City to San Francisco for this meal, so my expectations were high. The dinner was advertised as “Moroccan Meatball Madness” and it really delivered. Tanner had been sourcing meatballs for several weeks and the final result was a culinary excursion unlike any other. Only negative was he asked me to bring Red Bull, which I presumed would serve as a Moroccan cocktail mixer, but when I showed up he explained that he was just tired. But it worked out because everyone got sleepy after eating the meatballs. 10/10
The Dipsea Trail is a gorgeous hike in Marin. It took about 4 hours to complete the 7 mile loop. The scenery is constantly cycling between forest, prairie, mountain, and ocean views. Be warned that when they say “steep ravine” they really mean steep. You’ll be climbing at a sharp incline for the better part of 2 hours. Get ready to sweat! 10/10
Would I fly 2,300 miles just to climb a big rock? Probably not. That said, if you find yourself in Medellín, a day trip to Guatapé is well worth it. I can’t think of any other rocks that have 708 steps wedged between a crack. It’s definitely unique and the view up top is worth the climb. It does get a little scary near the top, but the stairs are solid and there’s no reason to fear. Pro tip: there’s a free baño at the top if you don’t want to pay $1000 pesos at the bottom. 10/10
Hooked-on-plants in Red Hook is truly on another level. Many nearby nurseries keep their plants inside where they’re subjected to awful fluorescent light. This often results in nasty and unhappy plants! Hooked-on-plants goes the extra mile and puts their plants out on the sidewalk every Sunday so they can soak up some UV. Please support them so they can keep supporting the plants. 10/10
Just 95 reviews to go until I become Yelp Elite : )
