This Month Brought to You by AI

In case you’re not yet convinced we’ve been living in a simulation… well… THIS MONTH’S EMAIL WAS WRITTEN BY ROBOTS.

That’s right. Instead of writing a long letter to you, I wrote short letter to artificial intelligence and instructed it to write a letter to you. Here goes…

~~~
The Prompt
Dear AI,
Please write my monthly newsletter about the following topics:
  • The pros and cons of my new faux-Rothko painting
  • The climatological reasons it has been so warm in NYC and hasn’t snowed
  • My journey to the infinity pool at SoJo Spa in New Jersey
  • How I never have to use my brain anymore since AI is so smart
The Output
The pros and cons of my new faux-Rothko painting have been a hot topic in my world. The painting is a beautiful, modern take on abstract expressionism, but there is a certain lack of authenticity to it. On one hand, it is a stunning piece of art that brings a sense of serenity and beauty to my living room. On the other hand, it is not a true Rothko painting and it lacks the emotional power of one.
The climatological reasons for why it has been so warm in NYC and why it hasn't snowed yet this season have been a cause for speculation. Scientists believe that the jet stream has shifted, preventing the cold arctic air from reaching the east coast. This has caused the temperature to remain above average for the past two months. In addition, the warmer temperatures have led to less precipitation in the form of snow.
My journey to the infinity pool at SoJo Spa in New Jersey was an amazing experience. After taking a short train ride from NYC, I arrived at the spa, ready to relax and take in the beautiful views. The infinity pool was spacious and had stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. I enjoyed the feeling of being suspended in the water, as if I were floating in a sea of tranquility.
With AI becoming increasingly smart, I have found myself relying on it more and more. For example, I have been able to delegate mundane tasks such as grocery shopping and booking flights to AI. This has freed up more of my time and energy to focus on the things that I enjoy. I can now devote more of my time to activities such as reading and cooking. AI has also made it easier to find information. All I have to do is ask and I get the information I need in a matter of seconds.
In conclusion, this month has been a great reminder of the power of AI and the potential it has to make our lives easier. From my new faux-Rothko painting to the pleasant weather in NYC, and my journey to the infinity pool at SoJo Spa, AI has been an integral part of my experiences. I am grateful for how it has made my life easier and allowed me to focus on the things I love.
The Verdict
Wow I could not have said it better myself!
In all seriousness, about 50% of the code I write these days is just me hitting tab and letting the GitHub Copilot AI autocomplete.
Last weekend I finally learned SQL (structured query language) using ChatGPT as my instructor. Every time I got stuck I asked it for help and I pasted the error messages I was seeing. ChatGPT always came up with a solution PLUS explained why it worked. AI is truly an excellent teacher.
Last month, Notion started adding AI to its text editor and I got to make a short video introducing it. AI is powerful stuff and it is undoubtedly going to change the world quickly.
I promise to return in human form next month!
